Read these pretty heated and often time hilarious comments from the voting page from the Sweet/Salty 16:

McDonald’s Fries vs. Movie Theater Popcorn is the toughest match up. Fries are delicious but if you get the popcorn and eat it within 20 minutes… that blows everything out of the water. The tough part is when it’s stale… it’s no bueno. UGHHHHH WHO WILL WIN?!
Peanut butter’s tyranny cannot stand
This bracket highlights the industry powerhouses of the snack world: Reese’s, girl scouts, and things that rhyme with ‘neato’.
Up until this point, there were some difficult choices, but not until I saw Nacho Doritos vs Popcorn did I remember how truly difficult this can be. Next year, you have to allow people to fill out brackets before the voting begins. That will also allow you to figure out who you shouldnt’ be friends with anymore and to disqualify any/all of their stupid votes.
This is making me unnecessarily hungry

2015 Snack Bracket!

Loading…” target=”_blank”>Vote here

Check out the bracket here!

The Snacket, some call it. I have too much time on my hands, others would call it.

Why a bracket-like tournament for snacks? It’s completely unimportant and silly, but it’s fun to think about and even more fun to discuss with friends, family and loved ones. I mean, why not?
Will Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups win two years in a row, or will Nacho Doritos get vengeance? Will new-comers Ginger Snaps and Pizza Bagel Bites have a strong showing? Will a fruit, nut or vegetable advance in the newly instated Healthy Region?
Also, these rankings are super scientific and legit. Do not question them.
Pass this voting link ( http://goo.gl/forms/wAw0xHg7ff ) along to friends, enemies, and that co-worker you like but always needed a fun and accessible topic to use for a conversation starter.
Round 2 voting will commence in about a week!

Healthy vegan gluten free chocolate cookie test: maple syrup vs. honey vs. agave

NOTE: Honey is not vegan. So two out of the three cookie recipes being tested are vegan, just not the one that uses honey.

Here is a recipe for a very healthy and very tasty chocolate chip cookie, and it happens to also be vegan and gluten free!

This post will be examining three different batches of this recipe with a change in one ingredient: the sweetener. Specifically, we’ll make one batch using maple syrup, one using honey, and one using raw agave nectar.

This recipe and test idea was suggested by my friend Margaret. I’m always down for testing anything chocolate for a friend. And for “science.”
